Bring Samuel Bird Home: Notice to Hunters & Landowners

Who we’re asking: hunters, trappers, anglers, hikers, rural landowners, leaseholders, and ATV users in the west/southwest corridor within ~150 km of Edmonton.

Why now? Investigators believe Samuel was concealed on land within hours of the June 1 incident. Most offender disposals occur 15–50 km from the scene (avg ~33 km), near roads/trails, downhill from access, and within 50–100 ft of a roadway or cutline.

Who is
Samuel Bird?

Samuel Bird is not just a name in the news; he is a son, a grandson, a cousin, and a friend. His family knows him as Achapees, his spirit name, which means “little boy on the moon.”

Samuel was only 14 years old when he went missing on June 1, 2025. He loved to laugh, play games, and tease his family with his humour. He never left without giving his mom a hug and saying, “I love you.”

Samuel was also a cultural helper, learning his language, songs, and ways of ceremony. He carried a light that touched everyone who knew him, always ready to help, always rooted in love.

His disappearance has left a hole in the hearts of his mom, Alanna, family, community, and all who continue to search for him.

The mission is simple:

Bring Samuel home with love, dignity, and ceremony.

Every step we take, every search, and every effort is guided by that love. Samuel deserves to be found, remembered for the life he lived, and honoured in the way his ancestors would want.

We greatly appreciate all of your help in locating Samuel Bird.
