CHAPTER ONE
Omens Of Tragedy
|
|
I didn't want to admit it to myself, or to alarm Dawn, but at
some level
felt afraid to take the message. To Dawn, as I stepped into
the bathroom, I
said casually, "Why don't you phone and see what that the
message is?"
In the bathroom, I started to brush my teeth but found myself
being quiet as
a mouse to eavesdrop. I could not make out what Dawn was
saying, but her
tone and inflection made the hairs stand up on the back of my
neck. I
stepped out of the bathroom as she put down the phone: "Tim,
the R.C.M.P.
are on their way up to see us."
This ends "Omens of Tragedy", the first chapter on "Searching For Sam."
"Searching For Sam" is a rare literary gem. On the surface it certainly captured me with the obvious love bond between father and son. While, at the same time, the deeper levels took me on a voyage. This journey took me through many unexplained occurrences in my life.
I found 'Searching For Sam' to be the key that unlocked emotions, feelings and thoughts that were lost somewhere deep inside of me. I couldn't put it down, as I read cover to cover in one sitting. It made me laugh made me cry and really made me think. But the bottom line is it guided me and gave me the answers I was looking for! Thank you Tim.
Sincerely,
Don Campbell, Abbotsford, BC
